Genetic counselling required in cases like
- Women given high risk for chromosomal abnormalities like trisomy21 in fetus in dual test or quadruple marker
- Women on prenatal ultrasound having structural abnormality in the baby
- Family history of genetic disorder like both parents having thalassemia minor or previous child with known genetic disorder
- Repeated miscarriages
